Fire Protection Publications (FPP) is a mission-driven, values-based organization dedicated to the production of high-quality educational content for the international community of firefighters and first responders. FPP is an Engineering Extension unit of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University.

We are looking for the right individual to serve as a Marketing Coordinator. As the Marketing Coordinator at FPP, you will work with staff, stakeholders, and customers to develop the “story” of IFSTA and promote IFSTA/FPP products through Marketing and social media. This position is responsible for developing and managing the FPP/IFSTA brand and promoting both general and product-specific information about IFSTA. You will work with staff from across our organization to create copy that is consistent and powerful. You will work with other FPP departments to develop and lay out effective and exciting design concepts. You will support our sales team with targeted messaging and marketing. This position is based on the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater, OK. It is an office-based position; remote and hybrid work are not currently an option for this role.

Areas of responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and analyze marketing campaigns for key IFSTA/FPP products that incorporate print and digital advertisements, social media messaging, and custom promotional materials.
  • Develop branding campaigns that grow and enhance the IFSTA/FPP brand in the market.
  • Develop and manage an annual marketing/advertising budget.
  • Manage design elements and content for ifsta.org and be the primary POC for the website vendor.
  • Supervise marketing staff to include the FPP Marketing Specialist.
  • Review and approve all copy for internal and external use to ensure consistency.
  • Work with sales team (training specialists) to craft targeted messages and marketing for local and regional trade shows.
  • Work with eProducts on app store search engine ads
  • Negotiate purchases of print and digital advertisement space within budgeted amounts to ensure IFSTA/FPP is well represented in the market.
  • Utilize SEO to increase website traffic and improve order conversion rates.
  • Develop RFPs for contract marketing content and evaluate produced work for quality and completeness.
  • Manage the publishing of Speaking of Fire and other IFSTA/FPP trade publications –
  • Working with content providers on articles and updates from the fire service industry.
  • Manage the publishing of content and advertising with outside content providers (social media platforms, advertising agencies, search engine ad platforms, etc.)
  • Manage the development and distribution processes for the IFSTA/FPP’s annual catalog and calendar.
  • Coordinate trade show booth design to include regular graphic and copy updates.
  • Coordinate the development and installation of all visual assets for IFSTA Winter and Summer Conferences.
  • Coordinate with the Graphics Manager to identify art needs, schedule time for graphic artist work, and evaluate work in accordance with concept and storyboards.
  • Work with the BI team to evaluate the effectiveness of the current advertising plan and budget using benchmarked measures of success.
  • Work with Customer Service Customer Support and the Training Specialist team to develop strategies for up-selling and cross-selling products.
  • Coordinate with Business Manager & staff on development and maintenance of product descriptions across all media.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, advertising, marketing, or related field and six months of related work experience. Demonstrated understanding and application of FPP's organizational values: Service, Safety, Quality, Integrity, Excellence, Professionalism, Accuracy, Collaboration, Credibility, Innovativeness, Accountability.


Compensation:

Compensation for this position will be based on the work experience, skills and abilities the selected candidate brings to the position. The current hiring range for Oklahoma State University is $50,000 to $68,000 per year.
