Fire Protection Publications (FPP) is seeking applications for the position of IFSTA/FPP Training Specialist (Sales Associate). FPP is a department within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) and is the headquarters of the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA). As the world's leading publisher of high quality and technically accurate fire service training materials, FPP provides a vital service to the fire and emergency services.
IFSTA/FPP Training Specialists work closely with fire department training officers to implement IFSTA/FPP materials in their departments. Customers rely on IFSTA/FPP Training Specialists to be experts on IFSTA products and provide recommendations and suggested best practices in all aspects of training delivery. IFSTA/FPP Training Specialists travel extensively for site visits, train-the-trainer presentations, trade shows, and other industry events. Incumbents may be eligible for a remote work location dependent on one year of successful performance in the position and organizational needs.
Minimum qualifications for the position include an Associate’s degree and four years work-related experience in Sales, Marketing, Fire Service or related field. Have Firefighter I (or equivalent) or Paramedic, Fire Instructor I (or equivalent), Driver's License. Knowledge of principles and methods involved in showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategies and tactics, product demonstration and sales techniques, and sales control systems. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques.
