In Honor and Memory of Harold Mace

STILLWATER, Okla. – The International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) and Fire Protection Publications (FPP) mourn the passing of FPP Emeritus Director Harold Mace. Mr. Mace was Director of FPP for 23 years and led a number of initiatives to improve firefighter training worldwide. Mike Wieder, IFSTA Executive Director reflected: “We lost a true icon in the American fire service. Harold was an amazing leader, mentor, and friend to so many people. His impact will continue on.”

Dr. Judith M. Graber Receives the 2024 Dr. John Granito Award for Excellence in Fire Leadership and Management Research


STILLWATER, Okla. – Dr. Judith M. Graber, Ph.D., M.S., was presented the 2024 Dr. John Granito Award for Excellence in Fire Service Leadership and Management Research at the 2024 International Fire Service Journal of Leadership and Management Research Symposium held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 13, 2024. This award is presented to individuals who have significantly advanced fire leadership and management literature through their research efforts.

William Peterson Receives 2024 John W. Hoglund Award


STILLWATER, Okla. – William Peterson was presented with the 2024 John W. Hoglund Award during the 91st IFSTA Validation Conference held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, July 13, 2024. The John W. Hoglund Award is presented by the IFSTA Executive Board to an individual who has exhibited outstanding leadership and service to the board and the organization during their tenure.

Dr. Robert England Receives the 2024 IFSTA Everett E. Hudiburg Award


STILLWATER, Okla. – Dr. Robert England was presented with the 2024 Everett E. Hudiburg Memorial Award during the Opening General Session of the 91st IFSTA Validation Conference held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 13, 2024. The Everett E. Hudiburg Memorial Award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the training of firefighters.

Jon Bubke Receives 2024 Marvin L. Austin Distinguished Leadership Award


STILLWATER, Okla. – During the Opening General Session of the International Fire Service Training Association 91st Annual Validation Conference held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 13, 2024, the 2024 Marvin L.
