STILLWATER, Okla. – The International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) and Fire Protection Publications (FPP) mourn the passing of FPP Emeritus Director Harold Mace. Mr. Mace was Director of FPP for 23 years and led a number of initiatives to improve firefighter training worldwide. Mike Wieder, IFSTA Executive Director reflected: “We lost a true icon in the American fire service. Harold was an amazing leader, mentor, and friend to so many people. His impact will continue on.”

With two decades of invaluable experience, Felicia Bryant, a dedicated member of the Oakland Fire Department, currently serving as the Fire Marshal. With a rich history in the department, she has held diverse roles, including Firefighter, Driver Operator/Engineer, Public Information Officer, Lieutenant, and Assistant Fire Marshal.
A committed community leader, Felicia serves on the Executive Board of the Oakland Black Firefighters Association and is a proud member of the California Fire Prevention Officers. She previously chaired the Black Women in the Fire Service at the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters.
STILLWATER, Okla. – Dr. Judith M. Graber, Ph.D., M.S., was presented the 2024 Dr. John Granito Award for Excellence in Fire Service Leadership and Management Research at the 2024 International Fire Service Journal of Leadership and Management Research Symposium held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 13, 2024. This award is presented to individuals who have significantly advanced fire leadership and management literature through their research efforts.

Hoglund Award is presented by the IFSTA Executive Board to an individual who has exhibited outstanding leadership and service to the board and the organization during their tenure.

Hudiburg Memorial Award during the Opening General Session of the 91st IFSTA Validation Conference held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 13, 2024. The Everett E. Hudiburg Memorial Award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the training of firefighters.
