Dr. Larry Collins, retired Eastern Kentucky University Safety, Security & Emergency Department associate dean, Richmond, Kentucky, completed eight years of service to the IFSTAⓇ Executive Board during the 2023 IFSTAⓇ Winter Meeting in January.
Larry has an associate of science degree in Fire Science Technology, a bachelor’s in Industrial Arts/Technology Education, and a master’s and doctorate of education in Technology Education.

Tonya Hoover, deputy U.S. Fire Administrator and past IFSTA Executive Board member, was awarded the Everett E. Hudiburg Memorial Award during the International Fire Service Training Association’s 89th Annual Validation Conference in July 2022.
Nancy Trench, retired FPP assistant director, was awarded the Marvin L. Austin Award during the International Fire Service Training Association’s 88th Annual Validation Conference in July 2021.
Trench was involved in the IFSTA Validation Conference in a number of ways during her more than 40 year involvement with Oklahoma State University’s fire programs.
During her time with OSU Fire Service Training, she was active in the IFSTA validation process and conferences. She was a major advocate for the creation of the Public Fire Educator, First Edition manual – now titled Fire and Life Safety Educator – and served on the validation committee for that manual.

Graber, Ph.D., M.S., was presented the 2024 Dr. John Granito Award for Excellence in Fire Service Leadership and Management Research at the 2024 International Fire Service Journal of Leadership and Management Research Symposium held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 13, 2024. This award is presented to individuals who have significantly advanced fire leadership and management literature through their research efforts.
STILLWATER, Oklahoma - Tom Jenkins, fire chief for the Rogers Fire Department, Rogers, Arkansas; was reappointed to the International Fire Service Training Association Executive Board during the 2023 IFSTAⓇ Winter Meeting, January 12, 2023.
Tom Jenkins has served as the Rogers Fire Department fire chief since 2009. Prior to his arrival in Arkansas, he served as deputy chief for the Sand Springs Fire Department in Oklahoma.
Dennis Compton, retired fire chief and former International Fire Service Training Association Executive Board chairman, was awarded the 2023 Everett E. Hudiburg Memorial Award, as well as the 2023 John W. Hoglund Award, during the 90th IFSTAⓇ Summer Validation Conference July, 8 2023.
